A: Learn industry vocabulary and become familiar with the training needed to get a job in the areas of childcare and education. Learn about careers in childcare and education, and safety information to work in this field. Get CPR and First Aid certified too! Free childcare available.

Q: What does this class prepare me to do?
A: Students will be able to:
● use vocabulary related to early childhood education
● use the CANVAS learning system
● describe the nature of childcare and education
● apply basic safety techniques
● prepare for LiveScan fingerprinting (requirements and how to get fingerprinting done)
● apply for work in a child care setting
● understand the range of jobs in childcare and education
Q: What are the prerequisites?
A: All Adult Education students must be 18 years or older.
Q: When is the class?
A: The class is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm-8:30pm. This class is offered 2 times per year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Please check our website at adulted.nvusd.org for upcoming classes.
Q: Is the class in Spanish?
A: Class is bilingual (English/Spanish).

A: The class fee is $20.
